Background:
The series of forums were initiated and organized successfully in the past by CNLN and co-organizers. Wageningen University (WUR, forum 2003), Leiden University (LUMC, forum 2004), Chinese Embassy in NL and also KNAW (forum 2004) etc were among supporting organizations as well as major financial sponsors. ACSSN and VCWI were among management sponsors.
Our forums have aroused the interest and attention from both Dutch and china side in Life Sciences field. Many top scientists and officers attended our previous forums with giving outstanding lectures, e.g. Chinese ambassador, President of Peking University, Rectors of Wageningen University and Leiden University, representatives from KNAW and Chinese academy of sciences.

Motivation:
The mission of this forum is to be a scientific platform and bring together both Dutch and Chinese professionals in life science field, especially those who are studying PhD program in The Netherlands and/or doing collaboration research projects in either Netherlands or China, to share new insights, and to provide extensive updates on the recent developments in the life-science relating fields, including biology, biotechnology, agriculture, pharmacological and medical sciences etc.

Note: CNLN has 113 members registered in 2004, among them 38 are researchers with PhD degree and then 75 studying MSc or PhD programs at universities in the Netherlands.
