Moderne Westerse en Traditionele Chinese Geneeskunde: Over Effecten en Placebo Effecten

During the Amsterdam China Festival a scientific symposium will be held in the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam on 10 October 2005. Dutch and Chinese scientists will debate on the role of the biological clock and 24-hour rhythms on our daily life. The topics considered range from sleep-wake disturbances, cardiac arrhythmia and drops in hormone production during normal aging to circadian disorders in deseases such as, asthma, hypertension, obesity, depression and dementia.Also planned are a Master Class Neurosciences on 11 October, and a public debate on 12 October about the background and scientific value of traditional Chinese medicine. The Netherlands Institute for Brain Research (KNAW) is the organizer of this symposium, in close cooperation with the AMC
